The Forest of Vanishing Stars

by Kristin Harmel | Read by Madeleine Maby

In this compelling coming-of-age story, narrator Madeleine Maby portrays the mysterious Jerusza in a wise and foreboding tone. The intuitive woman kidnaps Yona from Berlin just before her second birthday and raises her in the Naliboki Forest of Poland. Maby's depiction of Yona, initially brimming with curiosity and wonder, evolves to reflect the girl's growth into an increasingly self-assured young woman after Jerusza's death.

The Cave Dwellers

by Christina McDowell | Read by Madeleine Maby

Madeleine Maby narrates this layered satirical novel with a strong sense of story and a fine ability to get inside her characters' psyches. Her emulations of Washington, DC's, powerful and power hungry are nuanced. Her performance reveals the vapid sound of the social climber and the angst of the teenager. The novel is fast paced.

The Only Woman in the Photo

by Kathleen Krull | Read by Madeleine Maby

With even pacing and strong, clear diction, narrator Madeleine Maby gives a compelling performance of this short biography of the trailblazing labor advocate Frances Perkins. After graduating from Mount Holyoke College in 1902, Perkins documented the terrible working conditions in textile and paper mills. Listeners hear horror in Maby's voice as she describes Perkins's outrage at the 1911 Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire, and her passion in advocating for fire safety rules we take for granted today. In spite of gender discrimination, Perkins went on to become the first woman to serve in a United States cabinet position, as labor secretary under President Roosevelt. Maby describes the rise of Perkins's career in a calm voice full of conviction.

Vassa In The Night

By Sarah Porter

Narrated by Madeleine Maby

"Narrator Madeleine Maby's performance never waivers throughout this audiobook for teens. Magic appears in many forms in this Russian folktale turned modern-day horror story. Maby maintains credibility and consistency throughout the many characters that populate the story, clearly distinguishing who or what creature is speaking. Especially well done are the two "lawyers," Picnic and Pangolin. Maby's renditions of these two make them pop to life so that listeners believe in their vitality. Despite the gore and horror of parts of the tale, one hears an underlying sadness steeped in hope that somehow Vassa, the heroine, can make it all right again. Maby's presentation succeeds in fueling that hope."

USA TODAY

Interview with Jennifer Probst

"My narrator! I adore Madeleine Maby and the skill she brings to my characters, making them come alive. She’s recorded almost all of my books for the Marriage to a Billionaire and Searching For series, and my readers always tell me how much they love her! Hearing Madeleine bring Wolfe and Gen to audio is one of the things I’m most looking forward to. Her stellar reviews consistently show she’s a fan fave!"

The Accidental empress

By Allison Pataki

Narrated by Madeleine Maby

Madeleine Maby did an excellent job. She had a great voice for Sisi and she portrayed the emotions of the character well. Her male voices were believable. There were several times when Austrian-German and Hungarian phrases were used in the book and Maby also did a great job of making these believable. I especially liked her voice for the over-bearing mother-in-law, Sophie.
